Monday, July 24, 2023 – The Mountain Brook Schools Board of Education met Monday afternoon at Charles Mason Board of Education Building for the district’s monthly board meeting. Below is a rundown of the meeting:

The meeting opened by approving minutes from the last board meeting (June 22).

Reports to the Board:

Brasfield and Gorrie’s Mike Culwell presented the monthly construction update to board members. Then, the MBS CSFO Kari Austin presented the board members with the school district’s monthly financial statements which were unanimously approved.

New business:

The board unanimously approved the latest personnel changes and unanimously approved miscellaneous items as surplus so that they can be discarded/donated/sold.
The board then approved the 2023-24 salary schedule as well as Bid #2023-005 for a walk in cooler, refrigeration, equipment and labor.

July announcements:

The first day of school is on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

The next Board Meeting will take place on Monday, August 14th at 3:30 p.m. at the Mountain Brook Board of Education (Charles Mason Building).
