Monday, May 1, 2023 – The Mountain Brook boys and girls varsity tennis teams both captured the 6A state championship trophy last week in Mobile at the AHSAA state championship tennis tournament.

The girl's win was their 6th consecutive championship and 32nd state title in program history. They won all nine (six singles and three doubles) state championships.

The boys avenged their 2022 runner-up finish and are back on top of 6A as they secured their first title since 2017 and their 27th championship in program history. They won eight out of nine state championships in singles and doubles.

Mountain Brook Schools athletics adding these two titles brings the state championship count to 185 across all programs in school history. This school year alone, Spartan teams have won six state championships: boys cross country, girls cross country, wrestling (duals), girls indoor track, boys tennis, and girls tennis. This marks the fourth time in school history that MBHS has had six state championship programs in a single school year (1994-95, 2010-11, 2021-22).
