MBHS Holds Virtual Alumni Day

  • Tuesday, April 5, 2022 – Mountain Brook High School held its Alumni Day virtually in Ms. Burns calculus classroom on Monday morning with seven former students speaking to Burns’ current MBHS seniors. Students conversed with alumni about adjusting to college-level classes and how to prepare for the next level of education, among other topics.

The original in-person event planned for the beginning of the semester had to be put on hold. It is usually held for all MBHS students at the beginning of the second semester to learn more about various aspects of higher education.

Years ago before Alumni Day was officially established, Burns had her former students informally come back and talk with current students about adjusting to the academic college experience. The event would eventually develop into a grade-wide, then later school-wide discussion with former students.

This year’s pool of alumni consisted of seven current college students representing five different universities from geographically all across the country. The event was organized by the MBHS PTO.
