Tuesday, November 22, 2022 -- Mountain Brook High School math students partnered with Cherokee Bend first graders on Monday to practice and help grow the first grader's counting and collection skills. In lieu of class, Mrs. Gannon's 10th and 11th-grade Advanced Algebra 2 classes broke off into small groups among the five first-grade classrooms to select, estimate, count, and record collections with younger students.

"We appreciate our teacher's creativity and the high school's flexibility to allow this unique opportunity," CBS Principal Brannon Aaron said. "Fostering connections district-wide helps our young students see a long-term impact of their learning."
