• A message from Mountain Brook Schools for Public Release:

Beginning on Monday May 24, 2021, the track at Mountain Brook High School will be closed for public use. Over the course of the summer, the track will be renovated to better accommodate our athletes, students and members of the community.

The track will be stripped of its “mondo” material and the base layer will be ground down in order for a new “mondo” layer to be glued on top. Once the new “mondo” is in place, it will be cured and striped. The project will extend well into the summer. The track will be completed before the start of the new school year. Mountain Brook Schools will keep the community updated on the progress of the new track.

“We look forward to the improvement of our track,” Mountain Brook Athletic Director Benny Eaves said. “It’s long overdue and will serve the entire community well for years and years to come. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this renovation period.”

For updates on the track, be sure to follow Mountain Brook Schools and Mountain Brook Athletics on social media and the school website: www.mtnbrook.k12.al.us
