Meet Our New Elementary Principal for 2024-2025, Mrs. Angie O'Reilly!

Putnam County R-I Schools is thrilled to introduce Mrs. Angie O'Reilly as the new Elementary Principal for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. With deep roots in our community and an impressive educational background, Mrs. O'Reilly brings a wealth of experience and a genuine commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.

Educational Background:

Mrs. O'Reilly is a proud graduate of Putnam County, laying the foundation for her strong connection to our school community. She pursued her academic journey at Truman State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1991 and a Master of Arts in Education in 1993. Currently working on an Education Specialist, K-12 Leadership degree, Mrs. O'Reilly is dedicated to continuous learning and growth.

Teaching Experience:

With 30 years of dedicated service to Putnam County R-I Schools, Mrs. O'Reilly has played various roles in shaping the educational landscape. Starting as a 6th-grade teacher in Milan for one year, she then transitioned to Putnam County, where she taught 3rd and 5th grade. Mrs. O'Reilly served as an Instructional Coach for two years and as a TAG instructor for one year.

Family and Personal Life:

Married to Roger during her first year at Putnam County, Mrs. O'Reilly and her husband reside on a farm and are proud parents to four children: Sydney, Tori, Trey, and Abbie. The O'Reilly family is deeply rooted in the community, and Mrs. O'Reilly's love for Putnam County extends to the next generation, with a granddaughter, Aria, and another one expected in March.

Hobbies and Interests:

Beyond her educational endeavors, Mrs. O'Reilly has a passion for reading, exploring flea markets and auctions, and nurturing her flower garden. An avid sports enthusiast, she cheers on the Midgets at various sporting events and holds a special place in her heart for the St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou.

Leadership Experience:

Mrs. O'Reilly's leadership journey includes serving as a PCR-I Summer Academy Facilitator, a member of the PCR-I CSIP Committee, a Team Leader for the PCR-I Assessment Team, and active participation in the PCR-I District Improvement Team. She has also taken on roles such as a Professional Development Leader for K-8 Writing Instruction and Assessment, MAP Training, and a MOLead Graduate. Mrs. O'Reilly's leadership extends to mentoring programs and various committees, showcasing her commitment to the growth and development of the school community.
