PC Junior High Football Team Camp
The Putnam County Junior High Football Team will participate in the 2-day Mini-Midget camp tonight and tomorrow night, July 19-20, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Players should report to the locker room at 6 p.m. to pick up their helmets and cleats. The camp is hosted by Head Varsity Football Coach Clyde Bondy and his team. High school players and the entire coaching staff help players in grades 4-8 develop their positional skills in the first session each evening. During the second portion of the camp each night, players are divided into their appropriate grade-level teams and each group will work on developing their team skills. This is an important time to set the season up for success, allow everyone to discover new things about their team, and begin developing the foundational elements that it will take for each team to be successful this fall.
Junior high players provided their T-shirt sizes earlier this summer, and Coach Watt has new camp T-shirts which will be handed out on Tuesday at the conclusion of the camp if the player has submitted the appropriate payment. T-shirts cost $8.50, and checks can be made out to Putnam County R-I Schools. The images in this article represent the front and back of the junior high football team shirt.
Coaches will take roll in front of the commons and Coach Bondy will explain the evening schedule prior to the start of camp each night. Please bring your own pre-filled water bottle. Coach Watt will have extra bottles of water on hand due to the boil order that is still in effect. Players should be sure to walk without cleats from the locker room to the front lawn if they choose to walk through the building.
