2nd grade news

Dear Parents,

We have had a great second week! We continued to focus on rules and procedures. Please remind your student that good behavior is expected in all areas of the school. The first few weeks we are especially strict with rules and expectations. Your student may walk a bit more at recess so that they will learn the rules.

  During the fair week we will NOT have snack, therefore, there is no need to send one. Milk tickets may be purchased at the office for $7  a month. 

Next week in:

 Communication Arts: This unit will be working on long and short vowels.  We will focus on retelling with beginning, middle and end. Students will be working on inferencing and using context clues to determine the meanings of words. We will also continue to work on printing legibly. Baggy Books will begin after the fair. 

Spelling:    There will be NO Spelling this week due to the PC Fair. 

Math: In math we will be adding and subtracting within 20, making 10 to add, and count on and back to subtract. 

Social Studies/Science: We will be working on a Government Unit. 

Upcoming Events:

• September 2--No School--Labor Day

• September 3-5- Early Dismissal (1:15)

• September 6--NO SCHOOL!

• September 9- No School!
