Reading by Example
2nd Grade would like to thank all of our readers for coming into our classrooms to share the love of books and reading with the children. We are so lucky to have such caring and inspirational adults in our community. The children were given an opportunity to see that adults, males and females, coaches, teachers, musicians, and even moms and dads love to read. This will stick with them for a long time! Be sure to check out our photo gallery!
Research shows:
Children learn to love the sound of language before they even notice the existence of printed words on a page. Reading books aloud to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world.
