2nd Grade Learns with Hands on Experience
Mrs. Jones’s 2nd grade class recently wrapped up their Science unit on Force and Motion. During this unit the students were able to participate in hands on activities such as making cars and building levers. Students used toilet paper tubes, popsicle sticks, nickels, and pennies for the lever activity. Each student made a prediction as to what they thought the lever would do when you put a nickel at one end a penny at the other. They were surprised to see that it balanced the lever out. Then, they placed another nickel on and the load of the penny was lifted.
