Flying through the Scientific Method
The past few weeks, we finished investigating vertebrates and invertebrates in science. The students researched both a vertebrate and an invertebrate and made a presentation to show the class about their animals.
Recently, we took another look at the scientific method and used it to help us answer a very important question: What type of paper will make a paper airplane fly the farthest distance? The students had to form a hypothesis about which type of paper would work best, then craft identical planes out of each type. To finish up, they tested each plane in 3 trials and collected data to see if it supported their hypothesis.
