Marshmallows, Toothpicks, & Earthquakes
STEAM Education In Action
Our 4th-grade class is working together in teams to design and eventually build a structure made from marshmallows, toothpicks, and straws. The class has read about earthquakes and how structures can be affected by them. In the next few weeks, they will be building these structures of marshmallows, toothpicks, and straws to see if they can withstand shaking and vibrations caused by a mock earthquake.
