The Eugene School District is engaging in a community conversation about improving the condition and design of our school buildings.
Eugene’s school buildings are aging. Most are more than 50 years old. Many older buildings are costly to heat and maintain and aren’t well designed to support student learning. It’s time to prioritize these needs and update the long-range plan for the future of our schools.

| Winter 2012 | Evaluated school buildings and properties: An unbiased outside consultant thoroughly assessed 4J school buildings. Many of the district’s aging schools were found to be in poor condition. |
| Spring 2012 | Developed starter recommendations: A set of recommendations for next steps were included in the consultant’s report. These recommendations are not decisions but a starting point for community conversation. |
