    Greetings!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to our awesome teachers! Thank you for your dedication and commitment to our students. You are changing lives and shaping futures every single day.

Congratulations to Angie McClain, a kindergarten teacher at Beverly Hills STEM Elementary School, who was named 2022 Hendrick Automall Concord Mills Teacher of the Year during an event on April 13th at the Davis Theatre. You can learn more about Angie in this video.

We are quickly approaching the end of another school year. These next weeks will be filled with a flurry of activities and events. Last week, we kicked off an interactive meeting series designed to allow parents and the public to provide feedback and input for the district’s new strategic plan. Here’s the schedule for those feedback sessions, which begin at 6 p.m.:

    • Tuesday, May 10 at West Cabarrus High School
    • Thursday, May 19 at Central Cabarrus High School
    • Monday, May 23 at Cox Mill High School
    • Tuesday, May 24 at Jay M. Robinson High School
    • Thursday, June 2 at Northwest Cabarrus High School

We also are just a few weeks away from the end-of-year testing season and to celebrating our CCS colleagues who will retire from the district at a special event on May 11th and the Class of 2022 during graduation ceremonies on May 14th for our early colleges and on June 9th, 10th, and 11th for our traditional high schools.

This month, we also will celebrate National School Nurse Day on May 11th. Cabarrus County Schools is grateful for our long-standing partnership with Cabarrus Health Alliance and for each of our school nurses. Their value to our school system has been immeasurable during the pandemic.
