    Acting Superintendent Schultz

    Greetings!

I am honored to serve as Acting Superintendent for Cabarrus County Schools. I started my career in 1996 as a 2nd grade teacher on the second floor of the old Winecoff School building. Since that time, I have served Cabarrus County Schools as an assistant principal, principal, director of elementary education, assistant superintendent and deputy superintendent. My most important roles are husband to a CCS teacher and father to one CCS graduate and one current student.

I know firsthand about the amazing work performed by CCS staff that focuses on our students’ academic, social and emotional needs. During my time away from CCS, I also learned what a tremendous reputation the district enjoys across the state.

As we enter this period of transition, I plan to continue to build upon the successful leadership Dr. Lowder has provided the district over the last six years. Here are a few of my main goals that will continue to build upon that work:

To provide continuity and stability for the district throughout this transition

    • To successfully lead CCS through and out of the COVID-19 pandemic
    • To ensure that our parents and community are aware of the great teaching and learning (regardless of the delivery method) that is happening here in Cabarrus County Schools
    • To ensure all CCS students have access and opportunities to be successful
    • To continue to actively engage CCS employees and local health providers regarding vaccinations for all eligible employees
    • To continue our successful collaborative relationships with local municipalities, governments, agencies and organizations in support of our students

We will meet these goals working together – CCS staff, parents and our community. I am excited about the opportunity to serve in this capacity and look forward to working with you.

    In partnership,

    Brian
