    Superintendent Lowder
We have completed the first quarter of the school year and are forging ahead. Report cards will be available on Nov. 6th. Parents: Make sure you check backpacks or PowerSchool for a comprehensive look at your student’s first quarter grades.

Congratulations to Robin Hartsell, an EC teacher assistant at Rocky River Elementary School, who has been named the Cabarrus County Schools 2019-2020 Teacher Assistant of the Year. Mrs. Hartsell has worked as a teacher assistant in our district since 1991.

We also announced the principal selection for Hickory Ridge Elementary School, which is scheduled to open in August 2020. Adrian Parry, principal at Rocky River Elementary, will be the principal of the new school. R. Brown McAllister Principal Tara Butch will replace Mrs. Parry at Rocky River Elementary. We are conducting a search for Mrs. Butch’s replacement.

This month, Cabarrus County Schools employees have participated in our district’s annual Employee Giving Campaign to benefit United Way. Since 2012, our employees have generously donated more than $200,000 to support United Way agencies in our community and region. Many of these agencies provide services to our students and their families. I am grateful to our employees for their continued support and thankful for their generosity.

The graduation schedule for the Class of 2020 is now available. This year’s schedule includes an additional graduation ceremony as the Cabarrus Early College of Technology graduates its first class.
