• A Message from Interim Superintendent, Brian Schultz

    June 1, 2021

    Acting Superintendent Schultz
We’ve made it to the end of the 2020-2021 school year, and what a year it has been – historic, difficult and full of challenges and changes. But we persevered, and here we are just days away from the end of a memorable year.

In a matter of days we will hold graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2021, and we are excited to celebrate our seniors. Each ceremony will be streamed live. Information about our graduation ceremonies can be found at www.cabarrrus.k12.nc.us/cabcograds21.

Our Annual Parent and Student Satisfaction surveys are now available. This is an opportunity for you to provide feedback about critical issues. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey; your feedback will help us improve. You can access the Parent Satisfaction Survey linked here or from the link in the yellow box at the top of our district website. We also are asking parents to encourage their children in grades 3-12 to complete the Student Satisfaction Survey. A link to the Student Satisfaction Survey is posted on each school’s website.

Although the pandemic isn’t completely behind us, we are encouraged by the tremendous improvements in our measures. Currently, the COVID-19 positive rate in Cabarrus County is 2.4% -- the lowest it has been since the positive rate was first tracked in March of 2020. Improvements in other measures such as hospitalizations and quarantines, as well as increases in vaccinations also are reasons to be encouraged.

As we make plans for the new school year, we will continue to work with our partners at Cabarrus Health Alliance and will follow the health guidance and requirements set by N.C. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. I encourage you to continue to adhere to the guidelines and recommendations from health officials to stay safe and well.

Thank you for your support and cooperation this school year. I know it hasn’t been easy. Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for allowing us to educate them at school and at home. Please take a few minutes to watch a special message from me to close out the school year.

    Enjoy your summer!

    Brian
