  • A Message from Dr. Chris Lowder, Superintendent 12//10/2019

    Superintendent Lowder
Congratulations to our newly elected Board Chair Rob Walter and Board Vice Chair Barry Shoemaker. The two were elected at the Board of Education work session on Dec. 2nd. Congratulations also are in order for Board Member Carolyn Carpenter on her recent Gold Award for School Boardsmanship from the N.C. School Boards Association (NCSBA) and to the entire Board of Education for receiving an award of excellence for school safety at the NCSBA Annual Conference.

We also are celebrating two of our athletic teams – Concord High School Men’s Soccer Team made school history on its run toward to a state title. The team made it all the way to the NCHSSAA 3A Soccer Playoffs Final Four before falling to Charlotte Catholic. And the Northwest Cabarrus High School Varsity Football Team made a repeat appearance in the playoffs this year and competed through the third round.

The deadline to submit Program Choice applications is just around the corner. All applications must be submitted by midnight on Dec. 19th. You can find Program Choice information and the application here.

Although it’s not officially winter yet, it is time to start thinking about how winter weather can affect the school calendar. We have a new resource to share with parents called Weather or Not. The informational cards will be distributed to each student over the next couple of weeks. You can also find the inclement weather information on our district website.

It won’t be long before we head out for winter break. Until then, let’s stay focused and keep working hard to achieve our goals.

    With gratitude,

    Chris
    Chris Lowder, Ed.D.
