Superintendent's Message - April 20, 2020

  • A Message from Dr. Chris Lowder, Superintendent 04/02/2020
    Superintendent Lowder
I hope everyone had a safe, relaxing and enjoyable spring break. We are excited to welcome everyone back today to our remote classrooms.

We will continue our remote teaching and learning plans shared in early April. Remember that our Extended Home Learning site is a valuable resource for information about our plans for delivering instruction and our expectations for students and families.

Our School Nutrition Program continues to provide breakfast and lunch to students throughout our community each week day. We continue to add more meal pick-up sites and now have more than 80 in our community. Children ages 1-18 are eligible for meals. You can view the list of meal sites here.

We are continuing to follow the guidance from health and government officials and are using their guidance to inform our decisions about how our district will operate for the remainder of the school year. I know you have lots of questions about end-of-year activities and events. We are working hard to develop plans that will provide celebrations that honor achievements and accomplishments while respecting our current situation.

You can now find all of the information we have posted and shared about how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected our district operations in a new website. Visit our COVID-19 Pandemic Response site. New information related to our response will be added to the site as updates occur. You can also stay up-to-date about district operations through our social media sites and our district mobile app.

The Cabarrus County Board of Education will hold its business meeting today, April 20, 2020, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be available through a live stream. Here is the link to attend: https://youtu.be/jTSDHKH67IA.
