• A Message from Dr. Chris Lowder, Superintendent 10/15/2019

    Superintendent Lowder
Congratulations to Wolf Meadow Elementary School Principal Jennifer Brinson, our 2019-2020 Principal of the Year! We surprised Ms. Brinson at a staff meeting on Oct. 9th to make the announcement. Congratulations also to Richard Money, our newly selected Assistant Principal of the Year. Mr. Money is an assistant principal at Concord Middle School. We will celebrate both of these outstanding administrators this month along with all of our other school administrators during National Principals Month.

This month also is National Bullying Prevention Month. This international campaign unites communities around the world to educate and raise awareness about bullying prevention. Cabarrus County Schools is proud to join in this annual effort. Throughout the month, our students and staff will initiate and participate in activities and events designed to encourage kindness and inclusion. You can search #ccsbeekind2019 to see photos of our activities.

Applications for our Program Choice options are now available. Parents and students attended our annual Program Choice Fair on Oct. 8th to meet representatives from the 30 schools in our district that offer specialized programming. You can apply for Program Choice now through Dec. 19th

Information about new elementary, middle and high school attendance boundaries for the 2020-2021 school year is now available on our realignment website. School assignments for many students will change as a result of the new boundaries. The site includes an interactive Find My School map and questions and answers to help you understand the impact realignment may have on your child’s school assignment for next year.

Cabarrus County Schools has installed live streaming cameras in the stadiums and gymnasiums of all seven traditional high schools. The live streaming service will provide student-athletes, coaches and families with digital access to hundreds of football, basketball, soccer and volleyball games throughout the year. Annual subscriptions are offered through National Amateur Sports and can be purchased for $70 at www.cabarruscountyathletics.com. With each subscription purchased, CCS receives 30 percent back to help grow and enhance our athletic programs.

Thank you to Subaru Concord and its customers for science book donations to Bethel Elementary School. The book donation is a part of the Subaru Loves Learning initiative in partnership with the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The dealership also presented Principal Julie Barbee with a $1,000 Staples gift card.
