Summer is winding down, and the excitement for a new year is building. Students kick off the 2019-2020 school year today at Wolf Meadow Elementary School. Here’s to a great new year filled with lots of learning and growing.

Students at our early colleges head back to class in a few weeks on Aug. 8th, and students whose schools follow our traditional calendar will start the new year on Aug. 26th.

In your preparations for the new school year, I encourage you to download the Cabarrus County Schools mobile app, if you haven’t already. The app is available in the online iTunes® and Google Play® app stores for free – search CabCoSchools. It offers a constantly updated feed of district news and events with photos and links to the district’s website and social media sites. You also can customize the app by selecting your preferred schools for news and updates. You also can choose to receive push notifications for breaking news, updates about school closures, and calendar changes.

Broadcasts of our Class of 2019 graduation ceremonies are available to watch on demand on our district YouTube channel. You also can watch the ceremonies on TV21 on Spectrum Cable. Visit our district website for a list of air times.

Don’t forget our School Nutrition Department will continue to offer free lunches to children age 18 and younger in our community through August 16th. No ID or reservations are required. Visit www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/freesummermeals for a list of sites.

    Sincerely,

    Chris
