• A Message from Dr. Chris Lowder, Superintendent 07/08/2019

Superintendent Lowder I hope everyone is enjoying their summer break.

Our staff members have been busy preparing for the 2019-2020 school year, which begins in just a couple of weeks – July 22nd – for students at Wolf Meadow Elementary School.

Part of our preparations included our annual Summer Leadership Academy for school and district administrators. The two-day professional development included sessions about leadership principles, communication, collaboration and connecting. Our Facilities Department team members are busy getting our schools and grounds ready for the new school year.

We welcomed two new district leaders earlier this month. Brian Schultz is our new assistant superintendent of auxiliary services. He will lead our transportation, school nutrition, technology, KIDS:PLUS and facilities teams. Sarah Reeves is our new director of elementary education.

As a reminder, children age 18 and younger in our community can receive free lunches through August 16th. Our School Nutrition Program is offering these meals. No ID or reservations are required. Visit www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/freesummermeals for a list of sites.

Here are a few important dates:
    • July 22nd – First Day for Students at Wolf Meadow Elementary School
    • Aug. 8th – First Day for Students at CCS Early Colleges
    • Aug. 13th & 14th – Safety Town at Pitts School Road Elementary School
    • Aug. 26th – First Day of School for All Other CCS Schools

Continue to enjoy your summer! We’ll see you soon.

    Sincerely,
    Chris
    Chris Lowder, Ed.D.
    Superintendent
