Oregon School Report Cards

Each year, the Oregon Department of Education issues a report card for every public school and district. 4J schools perform well overall compared with state averages and with similar schools. We are committed to helping all students succeed.

Last year the annual report cards underwent a significant redesign, the first since they began in 2000. Here are a few of the differences:

• New school ratings. Two overall ratings: One compares your school’s achievement and growth with all Oregon public schools. The second compares your school with demographically similar schools. Your school’s rating may be artificially lowered if too many students did not participate in state testing.

• Meaningful data. Greater emphasis on student learning and growth, and more information about student outcomes such as high school completion and college enrollment.

• Bigger picture. Information about your school’s student population, curriculum and learning environment, as well as student achievement and growth.

• Clear illustration. User-friendly design, now in color and with more charts and graphics.
