Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Dave Mitchell Field This Friday!

In 1977, our Mighty Midgets were so excited to play on a new football field. Forty-four years later, our Putnam County Midgets are anxiously anticipating those same feelings of excitement as they take to the turf field for the first time.

This Friday, August 27, we invite all of our alumni Putnam County Midget players, fans, parents, and community to attend our first ribbon cutting of the year as we unveil the new Dave Mitchell Field.

PCR-I would like to show our appreciation and celebrate the unveiling of our new turf football field at Dave Mitchell Field. Join us for a tailgate with the Booster Club and Hy--Vee beginning at 5:00 pm. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Friday, August 27, 2021, beginning at 5:45 pm. Long-time former Head Coach, Dave Mitchell will be giving a dedication speech. Following the ceremony, Putnam County will host the Highland Cougars for the 2021 Football Season Opener and the first game played on the new turf field.

Alumni football players and coaches will be recognized on the field at half-time. If you have questions or will be attending, you can call the Putnam County Athletic Office at 660-947-3361 ext 343 or email Mr. Andrew Garber, Athletic Director, to let us know if you will be able to join us for this memorable night.

As soon as we have more details available for the scheduling of our first softball game on the newly renovated fields, we will be reaching out to have alumni and coaches return for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the softball field as well. And when basketball and baseball seasons arrive, you can bet that we will want to see all of our alumni back to help us dedicate those new facilities and upgrades as well.

We are so grateful to our community for their support and patience and for helping to provide the best facilities and opportunities for our student-athletes. See you on Friday!

• 5:00 Hy Vee Tailgate

• 5:45 pm Ribbon Cutting w Dave Mitchell & Midget Alumni 

• 6:45 Teams leave the field

• 6:46 National Anthem
  - American Legion presents Arms
  - High school band plays Anthem 

               - American Legion and band exit the field

             -Tunnel & School Song

• 6:53 Announce offensive starters for Putnam County Midgets and defensive starters for visiting team

• 6:57 COIN-TOSS 

• 7:00 KICK-OFF 

Ticket gate opens @ 5:30 PM.  Ticket prices are $4.00 for adults, $3 for students, and $2.00 for senior citizens.  We will accept regular-season passes (players, coaches, cheerleaders, administrators, school-issued employee passes, Board member passes, MSTA, Grand River Conference Passes)
