GRAND RIVER CONFERENCE WINTER SPORTS
GUIDELINES FOR CONFERENCE SCHOOLS
ALBANY
It is our goal to ensure that the Albany R-III School District is able to maintain school and all of the activities that go along with school (as normal as possible) for as long as we can. With that being said, we feel it is our obligation to try to keep our students, faculty, parents, and community as safe as possible through our Winter Sports season. After much thought, we have decided to implement the following procedures for our Winter sports activities for the 2020-21 school year.
-
The Albany R-III School District will limit fans/spectators at all winter sports/activities.
-
Each Albany R-III participant (Basketball/Cheer) will receive a number of passes/tickets for his or her family to be able to attend. We are limiting it to immediate family members only-ex. Parents or guardians, grandparents, siblings.
-
Each visiting school will receive 150 Visitor tickets.  These tickets will be mailed to each school and should be distributed as you see fit.  Spectators must present this ticket for admission into our facility and must still pay the normal gate fee.  Tickets will not be required for those riding on the bus, ie (players, coaches, managers, bus drivers). School Administrators will not need these tickets.
-
Visiting School Cheer Squads will not be allowed to attend. This will allow us to provide adequate space to provide social distancing for those in attendance.
-
There will not be a student section. Students will not be allowed to attend unless they are a relation to one of the players or cheerleaders. At that time, the student will still be required to sit with their family
-
Anyone who would like to enter the facility for the game will have to present the Albany R-III pass to the gate worker upon paying the entry fee. Anyone without the pass will not be allowed in the facility.
-
Coaches, players, referees, administration, and media will be allowed. Varsity Basketball games will be broadcast through Albany T.V. for those unable to attend. Junior High activities will not be broadcast.
-
We are asking all present to please sit with your families, strongly recommending wear a mask or face covering when social distancing is not possible, ex. when you enter the facility, use the restroom, or concession stand.
-
We are asking all fans to sit on the designated sides of the gym. Albany fans on the home side and all visiting school fans please sit on the visitor side of the gym.
-
Concessions will be available but will be limited items. In the commons area, we will not have tables/seating available. We are asking anyone who purchases food items from the concession stand, please take the items back to your seat in the gym where social distancing can be attained.
-
Cheerleaders will be present at home games and will be given the number of passes each player needs. At this time, we are not taking the Cheer team to away games unless it is a championship/trophy game.

MILAN
In an effort to appropriately prepare and effectively mitigate the current pandemic, the Milan C-2 School District is designing adjusted protocols for INDOOR ATHLETICS
-
This plan will be adjusted accordingly if/when the pandemic situation changes.
-
The Sullivan County Health Department has been involved in the process.
-
The primary objective is to limit the spread of COVID-19 during Milan C-2 activities AND minimize the placement of individuals on Close Contact Lists.
Gymnasium Protocols –
Wildcats/Lady Wildcats
The MC2 teams will be allocated 2 to 4 tickets per player/coach – managers will be addressed via the coach and ticket allocation – players are asked to provide tickets to Immediate Family members. In the event a player may not have Immediate Family Members attend, that player can reserve a ticket for another group – but the other group MUST be consistent throughout the Indoor Sports Season(s);
The tickets will be shared by the Activities Director prior to each contest;
Home Seating
Primarily on the NORTH side, STAGE side, and potentially on specific sections on the SOUTH side. Spectators should be seated together WITH Immediate Family Members and each group should be six (6) feet apart. There will be one (1) row between each seating – to promote greater distances among non-family members;
Visiting Teams
The Visiting Teams will be assigned 1 to 2 tickets per player/coach – managers will be addressed via the coach and ticket allocation. The Visiting Team will be responsible for disbursing the TICKETS, as they will be provided as many tickets as their respective roster dictates.
Visitor Seating
Primarily on the SOUTH side. Spectators should be seated WITH Immediate Family Members and each group should be six (6) feet apart. There will be one (1) row between each seating – to promote greater distances among non-family members;
Essential Attendees – Each game, there will be a certain amount of individuals from both Milan C-2 and visiting schools – that list will be submitted to the Gates each game;
Gates – Due to current construction, the entrance/exit gates will be on the NORTH side of the Old Gym (directly across the football field house) and the WEST side of the HS building – individuals needing handicap accommodations should park on the North and West sides at the appropriate location(s) – if anyone needs additional assistance to park or enter/exit – they should contact the Milan C-2 School District at 660-265-4414.
Concessions – The concession stand will be housed in the New Cafeteria/Commons Area – attendees are to eat in the Cafeteria/Commons Area at the specific locations. Social Distancing will be expected.
Live Streaming – All Indoor Home Milan C-2 Athletics will be streamed via the district’s YouTube channel – the channel can be accessed via the district’s website – www.milan.k12.mo.us.
After Each Game – At the end of each contest, all spectators will be asked to leave the gymnasium – those that have tickets to attend the next game(s) shall enter the stands – those without tickets are asked to depart through the North and West doors. Group gathering in the school before or after the games will be discouraged. The Milan C-2 School district will disinfect the bleachers and other spectator areas after each game. Family members will be asked to NOT wait for players after each game – to specifically limit group gatherings.
Student Spectators – All students will sit with Immediate Family members and not moving around the facility. There will be not a specific Student Section.
Restrooms – Will be restricted to only one (1) person at a time and individuals shall not congregate in the area around the restrooms in the Old Gym lobby. The restrooms in the 1st floor of the HS will be available for use as well; however, restroom use will be limited.
***These protocols are subject to change when the New Gym is completed***
These practices are necessary to limit the potential spread of COVID-19, having significant amounts of individuals be quarantined by the Health Department or moving the Milan C-2 School District to Phase Yellow (Hybrid model) or Phase Red (Full remote model).
Again, if anyone is experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19; please do not attend the game, activity or contest.
If anyone has any QUESTIONS or COMMENTS, please contact the Milan C-2 School District.
