Beth Williams: Teacher Spotlight
Teacher Spotlight time!
Help us celebrate a #homegrownhero, 4th-grade teacher, Mrs. Beth Williams.
Beth tells us, "I graduated from Putnam County in 2005. I then went to North Central Missouri College and earned an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, then transferred to Missouri Southern State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration in 2010. Later I obtained my teaching certification through the ABCTE online program so I could do what I love now."
"I have lived in Putnam County my whole life. I married the love of my life, Codie, in July of 2005. Codie also works for the school in the transportation department. We have 3 beautiful children, Katie, Gage, and Max. I love spending time outside. I enjoy taking a walk, gardening, fishing, or just playing around with my kids. If I do have spare time, I love to make quilts and bake."
We asked Beth who or what inspired her to change from Criminal Justice to a career in teaching. She replied, "Many teachers in my life have influenced me. But my driving force in pursuing a career in education was mainly the children and their willingness to grow and learn. Those are special moments. I chose to come back home to Putnam County because it is where my family is and the amazing community I have known my whole life. This is where I want to make an impact, want my children to grow up here, and have pride in living in the community where I was raised."
Thank you for choosing, PC!
