Medical Coverage During Tryouts

Students must be covered when they try out for interscholastic sports, whether they are selected for the team or not.

Students must be covered when they try out for interscholastic sports, whether they are selected for the team or not. Insurance Benefits, LLC(344-8449) has made special arrangements to cover students who are not covered under another plan with the following procedure:

  • Students submit an application and premium payment to the school office.
  • The office date stamps the application envelope with date and time of receipt.
  • The school office holds the applications until the final team members are selected.
  • Applications and premiums for students who make the team are sent to Insurance Benefits, LLC for processing.
  • Applications and premium payments for students who do not make the team should be returned to the student.

Medical Coverage Requirements During Interscholastic Sports

Students must have appropriate medical coverage to participate in interscholastic sports. The District does not carry coverage that would provide medical benefits in the case of student injury.

Each school is responsible for on-site documentation of the coverage status of all students participating in tackle football or interscholastic sports.

Students participating in interscholastic sports must do one of the following:

  1. Provide proof of accident coverage under a parent’s or guardian’s plan. -or-
  2. Purchase one of the plans below through Manley Services.
