High School Scheduling — Logistics Subcommittee

    • CONSIDERATION – How to help students with IEP’s. Teachers can help students with the roadblocks in academics.
    • Teacher collaboration. EX: all high schools are teaching the same information.
    • Instructional coaches. Partner with Admin and leadership teams.

BELL SCHEDULE

  • Start/end time?
  • Early release  — which day?
    • Instead of early release 1x week. Can we have ½ day early release?
  • Where in the day does flex period(s) fall?
  • Passing times?
  • Length of lunch?
  • 4 day week? What happens? No flex day?
    • Run a A/B with no C

GRAAC/SCHOOL CHOICE 

  • Language to share with families that details what a 9th grade schedule would look like
    • Equitable across high schools
  • Comparing Classic vs. IHS
  • NEHS IB
  • Sample schedule needed for IHS, Classic — should have parity across district

ATTENDANCE 

  • Adjust letters and periods for absences to cause truancy.
  • Enforcement of attendance policies
  • Communication with families about attendance expectations.
