• International Thespians
    Troupe #533

The mission of the MBHS Thespian Club is to promote lifelong learning, support, and participation in theatre.  Students are tapped into the state organization after demonstrating meritorious work and a commitment to excellence in theatre arts that meets the Educational Society standards by earning points through participation in theatre productions, on the stage or behind the scenes. In addition, the Thespians are involved in the One Act Play Festival and individual events competition at the Trumbauer Theatre Conference sponsored by the Alabama Conference of Theatre, a fall play and a spring musical production. As a result of the hard work of past and present theatre students, the Mountain Brook High Theatre Department was selected to perform at the prestigious Edinburgh Arts Festival as part of the American High School Theatre Festival in August 2008. The Theatre Department was recognized once again in 2011 winning Alabama Best of Show at the ACT Trumbauer Festival and invited to perform at the Secondary Theatre Festival at the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Chattanooga, TN in 2012. The Thespian Troop and Theatre Class has participated in some extremely successful educational and cultural tours to Atlanta, Chicago and New York City over the years.

Thespian Dues are $35.00.  This money is used to help pay for membership in the International Thespian, and pay for the club picture in the school yearbook.
