Coach Ransom is a native of Douglasville, Georgia. He received his undergraduate degree in psychology and continued his education receiving his graduate degree in counseling from Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee. While in graduate school at Carson-Newman, he also served as a graduate assistant wrestling coach for the University.

Prior to coming to Mountain Brook, Coach Ransom held a position as a child and family therapist in Knoxville,TN where he worked with adolescents and consulted at local schools. Following this, he began his teaching career at Heard County high school in Franklin, Ga where served as a special education teacher as well as head wrestling coach and assistant football coach. This is his 12th year of teaching and the 10th year at MBHS

In addition to teaching special education, Coach Ransom also serves as the head wrestling coach. In his free time he enjoys going out on the lake and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs!
