Mr. McGovern is entering his 22nd year of teaching at his alma mater.  After graduating from Mountain Brook, he received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University in Secondary Science Education.  He received his Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama-Birmingham 2011.  In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. McGovern coaches cross country and track and field.  Away from school, Mr. McGovern enjoys running, golf, and spending time with his family.
