Walt Rogers graduated high school from Fort Dale Academy in Greenville, Alabama. He earned his B.S. and M.S. in biology from Samford University. He spent his first years teaching biology, chemistry and anatomy and physiology in several public schools in the Birmingham area. This is his 13^th  year at Mountain Brook High School where he has classes in AP Biology and AP Environmental Science.

He has served as a Reader and Table Leader for the AP Environmental Science Exam. In addition he is a presenter for A+ College Ready workshops throughout the state of Alabama. Each summer he teaches the Pre-AP Biology class for high schools students at the University of Alabama.

His extracurricular activities include serving as Organist at Riverchase United Methodist Church and spending time with his Godchildren.
