• SCHOOL ATTENDANCE AREAS

    It is the policy of the Mountain Brook Board of Education that students shall attend the elementary school that is located in the attendance area in which they reside.

    1.   Exceptions:      The school system may initiate placement of a student in an elementary school which is not within the attendance area where the students resides if such placement is determined to be in the best interests of the student and the school system.

    Circumstances which justify such placement could include, but not be limited to, the availability of special programs or personnel at an elementary school in another Mountain Brook attendance area which meet significant special needs of a particular student.

    2.     Special placement of a student as outlined in Section 1 above, shall be made only with the written approval of the Superintendent.
