• Diffusion and Collapse (300 AD- 1000 AD)

Expanding Zones of Exchange and Encounter

ERA 4 focuses on the effects, both positive and negative, of cultural diffusion on giant empires.  As the Roman Empire expands, students will be responsible for understanding the possible effects of the over-expansion of empires.  Students will then explore the elements of the collapse of empires as well as discover what can happen when a void of central power exists.  Students will also study the creation of the Eastern Orthodox Church and the effect this had on Europe. Click the tabs to the left to learn more.
