Civilizations

ERAs 1 & 2 of this course of study begins with Hunters and Gatherers, the Neolithic (Agricultural) Revolution, and the emergence of society and civilization. Through a wide range of learning opportunities, students will be introduced to the elements of civilization that begin to take shape as mankind starts to settle and leaves behind their nomadic ways. River Valley Civilizations (Mesopotamia, Indus, China and Egypt) are explored in depth in order to serve as a foundation for the rest of the year.  Click the tabs to the left to learn more.
