Morphology

Students will be participating in the Morphology this year. Morphology encourages students to learn different word morphemes instead of just memorizing words. Studies have shown that students memorize words for a test, but they do not apply this to other subjects such as reading and writing.

Each Monday, students will be introduced to the morpheme for the week.  

Students will practice using the words in class each day during reader's workshop. Students WILL NOT have a "spelling test" on these words each Friday.

At home, you can review the morpheme of the week, its meaning & discuss words that contain the morpheme.
