Ms. Marisa McLaughlin

I am over the moon about joining the CMES family as the newest 3rd grade Math and Science teacher! I was born in Buffalo, New York (Go Bills!), but I did most of my growing up in Charlotte, right up the road from CMES. I studied Psychology and Public Health for my undergrad at UNC Charlotte, and then spent a few years in the Construction Engineering field following graduation. I grew up doing Martial Arts and have been teaching it for the last 10 years. I just returned to the US after 2 years of teaching English abroad in Spain and those 2 years were the most rewarding of my life! I taught ages 3-16 and it certainly gave me a wide range of experiences and personalities. I love traveling, volleyball, karate, watching Netflix series, attending sporting events, going to concerts, hanging out in nature and doing pretty much anything that allows me to spend time with my friends and family.
