Mrs. Quinn

Welcome to my homepage.  I am Mrs. Quinn, the 4th and 5th grade ELA teacher for the Mandarin Immersion Program here at Cox Mill Elementary.  

I have had many teaching experiences-for the past 5 years I have been substitute teaching both here in NC and in OH where we lived till 2016.  Before 2012, I taught my children at home for 10 years and taught in many homeschool co-op classes with children of all ages.  

I am looking forward to beginning a new year with the 4th and 5th graders in the Mandarin Immersion Program.  This year, we will all begin the year in a fiction unit, studying different aspects of fiction such as character, setting, plot, theme, and point of view.  We will also be working through a spelling program and a vocabulary program, based on Greek word roots.  Finally, we will be working on daily writing exercises to familiarize students with the processes of many different types of writing.
