Thank you for taking the time to read through the email for updates and reminders!
Red Folder
Your child’s red folder is in their bookbag. Please be sure to review the papers inside, take out what needs to be kept at home, and fill out/complete anything that needs to be returned on Monday. The red folder should come back to school on Tuesday.
Homework
Your child should be reading each nightly for 10-15 minutes. In your child’s red folder, there is a student list of words for your child to practice each night that goes along with our Letterland unit and the spelling patterns we are learning.
Reader's Bag
Please have your child exchange the books in their reader's bag so they can have fresh books to read during Reader's Workshop.
Masks & Lanyard
Please be sure your child has at least 2 extra masks in their bookbag in case their mask gets dirty.
A mask lanyard is a great thing to have for your child’s mask so they can wear it around their neck while eating and while outside instead of putting it down on the table or ground.
**Please be sure your child is wearing a CLEAN mask each day. This helps to cut down on germs.**
Snacks
We do not have a snack time in first grade.
Chromebooks
Students must bring their fully charged Chromebook AND charger daily to and from school. Please be sure to charge the Chromebook EVERY night, regardless of if it seems to have a full charge.
Please be sure to keep the water bottle on the outside of the bookbag to ensure that the Chromebook will not be damaged.
Students need to bring their login/password cards everyday with their Chromebook. Have your child practice using their logins and passwords this weekend. They need to be able to login into their Chromebook and Clever independently.
Lunch
Lunch menus can be found here. Remember, breakfast and lunch are free for students. Students should have an idea of what they want for lunch from the menu prior to leaving home.
If your child brings a packed lunch, be sure the lunch is school appropriate for clean-up and your child is able to open the items without assistance.
