• *Please remember to email me with information, questions or updates.  It is my preferred method of communication.  Dojo is great for me to document stories, pictures, and behaviors, but please email me with information about your child.  I will see it faster and it’s a more professional way for us to communicate too!  Thanks so much!

    What are we learning?

*Reading- This week we students will identify how objects are sorted and sort objects by their attributes.  We will be reading a book called Sort it Out to accomplish these standards.  Practice at home by having your child sort silverware, socks, dishes, clothes and toys!  Ask them how they are sorting (they should be able to answer by color, size, type, etc.)

*Letterland- This week we will continue an in-depth study of word families.  This continues to reinforce rhyming but also helps children to increase their fluency by seeing patterns in words.  This week we will look at our letter U word families (-un, -ug, -ut).

*Math- This week we will work on fact fluency.  Now that we have learned strategies to add and subtract, we will see how efficient we can be at adding and subtracting numbers 0-5. It’s time to quickly know our answers!  Practice at home by doing addition or subtraction facts quickly while in the car, waiting in the car line, or making dinner!

*Science –We will continue to use property words to describe objects.  This week we will read the book What is it Made of and identify what different objects are made from.

Sight words we have learned: I, by, am, do, a, to, see, it, go, in, me, play, can, not, like, big, is, come, no, on, oh, he, we, have, at, said, was, the, here, up, down, an, went, on, get, will, our, us, and, all, for, day, look, what, my, put, are, yes, some, of, has, your

Sound spellings we have learned: -th (voiced and unvoiced), gg/ss/ff/ll/zz, -sh, -ch, -oo, -ou/-ow, -er/-ir/ur,  -ck, -ng, -ew, -ing, -ar, -or, -oy, -al/-all, -kn
