Mrs. Kimberly Stiffel
Hello! My name is Kimberly Stiffel and this is my 10th year at Cox Mill Elementary, and my 19th year as a school counselor in Cabarrus County Schools. I am thrilled to be working in such a wonderful school and a positive school community! I graduated from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (K-8) in 1997 and a Master's Degree in School Counseling (K-12) in 2001. Prior to working as a school counselor, I was a 7th grade Language Arts teacher and a 5th grade teacher. I also earned my National Board certification in 2005.
I currently serve students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. This year I will be teaching our SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) lessons during the students' Guidance encore class. I will be seeing classes every other week. Topics and themes will be shared on my website and updated each month.
In addition to teaching classroom lessons, I am also available for individual and small group counseling. Our student support staff work on a short-term basis to address any emotional, personal/social, and/or academic concerns. I can also assist with providing parents resources for professional counseling or therapy. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child's academic and/or emotional development.
