Get your student’s routine vaccinations up-to-date before school exclusion day
Are your student’s immunizations up to date? There is no COVID vaccine approved for children yet, but routine vaccination requirements still apply for students to come to school.
State law requires student immunizations for several diseases such as polio, measles, hepatitis and pertussis. To attend public schools, charter schools, private schools, preschools and childcare facilities in Oregon, students must have a complete and up-to-date record of vaccination, medical or nonmedical exemption, or immunity documentation for every immunization required for the student’s grade: Immunization Requirements

While 4J schools are currently providing distance learning for all students, students will return to schools in a hybrid model this spring. Some students are engaging in on-campus athletic activities and limited in-person instruction now.
Students who don’t have the required immunizations or up-to-date student records meeting state requirements must be excluded from school starting on Oregon’s Immunization Exclusion Day, which this year is February 17. They will not be able to participate in on-campus learning and activities, including sports, until their immunization records are in compliance with state law. Families will be notified individually before Exclusion Day.
Vaccines are available at many pharmacies, healthcare providers’ offices and Lane County Public Health (541-682-4041). The school-based health centers offer routine immunizations to all students by appointment. Please call to schedule immunizations:
