Students in grades 6–12 can change learning pathways for the third trimester—respond by March 4
Each family situation is unique. Some families are eager for students to return to in-person learning, while others are concerned about making this change soon. To meet families’ varying needs, 4J is offering families one more opportunity to change their choice of learning pathways before beginning on-site learning in the hybrid model.
During this pandemic year, Eugene School District 4J has offered families a choice of three options for learning:
• Same School Hybrid — When 4J schools return to in-person learning, it will be in a hybrid model. Students enrolled in this learning pathway will attend classes on-site at school some days and online at home on other days. This is the right choice for families who want their students to learn in-person at school some of the time. It is the default enrollment for students who do not make an active choice to change to an all-online learning option.
• Same School Online — Students enrolled in this learning pathway will continue learning 100% online at home with their regular school for the rest of the school year. This is the right choice for families who want their students to keep learning online with their regular school all of the time.
• Eugene Online Academy — The Eugene Online Academy is a separate program providing 100% online, asynchronous (on-demand) learning, supplemented by optional real-time check-ins. Students enrolling in EOA this year will not lose their place at their regular school. This is a choice for families who want their students to learn online with a different curricular program and on their own schedule, without synchronous class time.
Families chose one of these three enrollment options for your students before the start of the school year and later had the opportunity to change your choice for the second term. Elementary families were invited again to change between hybrid and online enrollment options earlier this month. Now, middle and high school families may change their student’s pathway for the final trimester.
Please make the best choice for your student based on whether you want them to learn in-person at school some of the time (Same School Hybrid), keep learning all online and connected with their regular school (Same School Online), or learn all online independently, asynchronously and with a different curriculum program than your regular school (Eugene Online Academy).
Thursday, March 4 is the deadline for middle and high school families to change students’ enrollment for Trimester 3 by completing an online request form: Learning Pathway Change Form / Solicitud de cambio de inscripción
Families only need to respond if you want to make a change. No action is needed if you want to continue with your student’s current choice. Middle and high school families will receive an email and text message with their student’s ID number and current enrollment pathway.

- Academia en línea de Eugene : La Academia en línea de Eugene es un programa separado que brinda aprendizaje asincrónico (a pedido) 100% en línea, complementado con registros opcionales en tiempo real. Los estudiantes que se inscriban en EOA este año no perderán su lugar en su escuela regular. Esta es una opción para familias que quieren que sus estudiantes aprendan en línea con un programa curricular diferente y en su propio horario, sin tiempo de clase sincrónico.
Las familias eligieron una de estas tres opciones de inscripción para sus estudiantes antes del inicio del año escolar y luego tuvieron la oportunidad de cambiar su elección para el segundo término. Las familias de primaria fueron invitadas nuevamente a cambiar entre las opciones de inscripción híbrida y en línea a principios de este mes. Las familias solo deben responder si desean hacer un cambio . No se necesita ninguna acción si desea continuar con la elección actual de su estudiante. Las familias de secundaria y preparatoria recibirán un correo electrónico y un mensaje de texto con el número de identificación de su estudiante y la ruta de inscripción actual.
