Parents, public invited to drop-in discussions with new superintendent
Wednesday, Sept. 16 (new date), 5:00–6:30 p.m. (invite friends or RSVP)
Tuesday, Sept. 22, 7:00–8:30 a.m. (invite friends or RSVP)
4J Education Center, 200 N. Monroe St., Eugene
Eugene School District 4J has a new leader, and he wants to meet you. Dr. Gustavo Balderas is inviting parents and the public to stop in to get to know him and to share their thoughts and questions about Eugene’s schools.
Two “Meet the Superintendent” drop-in sessions are offered in September, one in the evening and one in the morning to accommodate community members’ differing schedules. (The first evening session originally was mistakenly scheduled during Rosh Hoshanah, on September 14. Out of respect for our Jewish community, it has been moved to September 16.)
Both September sessions will be at the 4J Education Center near downtown Eugene; future opportunities will be held at different locations around the district.
Dr. Balderas has been on the job as superintendent of Eugene School District 4J since July 1. Before the Eugene School Board selected him to lead the Eugene School District, he served as a superintendent in two school districts in California, following 20 years as a teacher and educational administrator in Oregon.
