Bring your ballot to an official ballot box—it’s too late to mail it
November election ballots are in voters’ hands. Measure 20-222, at the very bottom of the ballot, asks 4J residents whether to renew local funding for schools without changing the property tax rate. This is not a new tax or a tax increase, but a five-year renewal of the local option levy that has funded 4J school operations since 2000. The levy provides about $8 million per year, equivalent to about 16 school days or 80 teaching positions.
Ballots must be returned to Lane County Elections by Tuesday, November 4, at 8 p.m.
