Last night the snow and ice melted a bit, then refroze, so the roads are still slick; the chance of freezing rain increased overnight. The safety of our students and staff is our top concern. Because we cannot safely transport students on many bus routes and the roads are hazardous for drivers, school has been canceled again for Thursday.
All 4J schools will be closed Thursday. Activities and building rentals are canceled.
Only designated emergency staff will report to work. All other staff will observe an unpaid furlough day. (emergency staff list)
These school days canceled due to weather will be made up on days previously designated as budget reduction/unpaid furlough days, or at the end of the school year. The scheduling of the make-up days will be determined and announced soon.
