8th Grade ALPS- The Liberty Team

My name is Sarah Goodman, and I am thrilled to be starting my second year at Harris Road Middle School. Before moving to North Carolina in 2021, I spent four years teaching at a high school in Northern California, alternating between the four different grade levels.  I received both my Bachelor of Arts in English and my Single Subject Teaching Credential from Sonoma State University. 

Middle school has always intrigued me, as it is one of my favorite age groups! My goal as an educator is to guide my students to become critical thinkers, skilled writers, clear communicators, and voracious readers. I believe that curiosity and determination are key elements for a successful education, and I work to create an environment that encourages students to take chances and challenge themselves. 

My hobbies include reading (my favorite genres are realistic fiction, memoir, and poetry), spending time hiking or swimming with my family, and doing craft projects.
