My name is Eileen Dew, and I am very excited to be a Hickory Ridge Cowboy teaching First Grade for the ninth year.  I am a native New Yorker but absolutely love the weather and atmosphere in North Carolina. 

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Ithaca College in New York and used it in Banking for 12 years.  I discovered my passion for teaching while employed as a preschool educator, so I went back to school and earned my Graduate Certificate in Elementary Education from UNC Charlotte.  I am proud to continue helping students learn and grow at Hickory Ridge Elementary and feel honored to have been involved at this school since its inception.

I have two children, Eddie (19) who attends UNCC, and Anna (17) a senior at Hickory Ridge High School, who keep me very busy when I'm away from school.  Our family enjoys playing sports and traveling.  

I look forward to a fabulous First Grade year filled with curiosity, patience, flexibility, growth, and learning.
