Welcome to 4th grade!

My name is Emily McConnell and I recently moved here from South Carolina. I am excited about beginning my fifth year of teaching here at the Ridge! My husband and I got married in October 2021. We are both graduates of the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!!). We moved from the Columbia area with our two dogs. I taught at my previous school for four years. In a few short years, I held a variety of positions. I have taught both fourth and fifth grades. I did two years as a self-contained teacher and two years as a team teacher (ELA/SS). I also received my gifted certification in SC which allowed me to teach a homogenous group of gifted learners. I looped with my last group of students and was able to enjoy two years with them. I am excited to get back to my roots with 4th grade self-contained!!
