Mrs. Lourdes Solis

Welcome to our wonderful class!

My Name is Lourdes Solis and I am the proud teacher of the Living and Learning Classroom here at Hickory Ridge Elementary. I attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and received a Bachelor's in Special Education. I have been teaching students with disabilities since 2012. I am very excited to be part of this wonderful Hickory Ridge family. I couldn't even begin to educate and advocate for my students without the help of our wonderful teaching assistants, Mrs. Arthette Spears and Ms. Lauren Dorsey. Our years of experience and our passion for students will make each day exciting, different, and purposeful.   

We believe very strongly that inclusive education is valuable for all kids and we plan to provide those opportunities for our students. We believe that giving them the opportunity to spend time in a regular educational setting with the same age peers will help them build friendships, practice goals, and generalize communication skills.
